Quite a few of you have been asking about my daily skin regimen, so I decided to give you a full breakdown of what I use, how often I use it and where I purchased each product.

Let me start by sharing a little more about my skin type and history. My skin is sensitive and dry; my skin tone is uneven. I have noticed in the past year or so, I would start breaking out close to that time of the month. I also broke out if I got any excess oil from my hair on my pillow case. Another thing I’ve noticed (that I’ve never heard from anyone), when I wore sleeveless shirts to bed and my deodorant got on the pillowcase, my face reacted immediately. I would wake up to at least 2-3 massive bumps on my face. But since recognizing that issue, I make sure to wear shirts with sleeves when going to bed. No more massive bumps!  Praise the Lord!!

Here are some additional tips for clear skin:
  1. Avoid putting your hands in your face, throughout the day.
  2. Stay away from greasy, unhealthy food, as much as possible.
  3. Clean your make-up brushes, as needed.
  4. Wash your pillowcase and sheets once a week.
  5. Be consistent with your skin routine.
  6. Drink water and Exercise. (Start small and progress)
  7. AVOID DRAMA and unnecessary stress —- this keeps me looking young 🙂

Here’s the breakdown of my updated skin routine:

I cleanse 2x a day with “Well Beginnings Baby Wash”. This is the Walgreens knock-off version of the “Johnson’s & Johnson’s Baby Wash”. I’ve tried the Wal-Mart knock-off version, as well as the Johnson’s & Johnson’s, but this is my favorite version. {Tip: Don’t let it stay on your face too long before rinsing.} Rinse with warm water. After all the product is rinsed away, I do a final rinse with cold water to close my pores. I Pat dry with a soft towel that I ONLY use for my face.

After my 2nd wash of the day, I use a cotton pad to apply Witch Hazel. {Both purchased from Walgreen’s.} This is a great toner for your face.

Then, I apply Aveeno’s “Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer”. This has been my favorite moisturizer for quite a few years now. It doesn’t leave my face greasy and one bottle lasts a LOOONG time. I only need one pump for each application. I probably go through 2 bottles a year. I must admit, this product is not the cheapest, but in my opinion, it works out since I only need to purchase it 2x a year.  The cheapest place to purchase it, that I’ve seen, is at Wal-Mart.

Lastly, once a week, after cleansing and pat drying, I use my “Detoxifying Charcoal Mask“. I apply an even layer on my face and allow it to dry stiff. I dampen a rag with warm water and wipe off the mask. After the mask is wiped away, I damp the rag with cold water and do a final wipe to close my pores. If you’ve never worked with charcoal before…IT’S MESSY. I have a rag that I use only when using this product because it leaves a stain. {Product was purchased at Walgreen’s.}

That’s everything I’ve been doing recently for my face and I’ve definitely seen some major improvements, faster than expected. Below is a video of my routine from a couple years ago, including my simple no make-up look that I still follow even to this day.
